Scott Rethi
Chief Compliance Officer/Operations
I began my career in broadcast television, working for NBC and CBS affiliates in Denver and South Carolina. While I enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the industry, something shifted when I sat down to review my own retirement accounts, I discovered a gap in my understanding of the underlying financial concepts. This sparked my curiosity and the deeper I went, the more fascinated I became by the complexity and strategic nature of financial markets. My newfound interest pulled me into a career in financial services.
Now, with a decade of experience in the sector, I serve as both Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). This dual mandate allows me to act as the strategic link between Cascade’s growth and our firm’s security. The role means anticipating regulatory hurdles and designing controls that work to protect the firm on a consistent basis. My goal is to build a robust infrastructure that mitigates risk without creating friction, ultimately ensuring that our systems support—rather than hinder—the client experience.
What I find most rewarding is the intersection of a client's personal passions and their financial objectives. Whether a client is driven by travel, unique collections, family support or charitable intent, I believe financial strategies should be a reflection of the life they want to lead. The connection to our clients’ passions makes this work meaningful to me.
I grew up in Indiana, Pennsylvania — the birthplace of Jimmy Stewart— and I developed a lifelong appreciation for classic cinema inspired by the legacy of my hometown’s most famous resident. Today, I am proud to call Colorado Springs home with my wife, Natalie, and our daughter. We were drawn to Colorado Springs by the exceptional quality of life we get from being in the great outdoors, from hiking local 14ers to enjoying the city’s bike-friendly community.
My family provides the perspective that fuels my work. Natalie’s diligence and practicality keep me grounded, and my daughter’s creativity and wonder for the world serves as a constant reminder of why we plan for the long term.
I am an active member of the Parent Action Committee at my daughter’s school. Despite a demanding professional schedule, my role allows me to invest in our community and the quality of my daughter’s education. Supporting a thriving learning environment for our children is a responsibility I take to heart, ensuring that our community remains a place where the next generation can succeed.
