Special Needs Planning

Rob Wrubel, CFP® is a Senior Investment Consultant with Cascade Investment Group.  Rob works with families with a special needs member on investment management and financial planning.

There are significant areas that a family with a special needs member has to address that are often overlooked by professionals who do not have personal experience. Steps should usually be taken to protect government benefits. Beneficiary designations must be handled correctly to avoid loss of benefits. Certain saving and investing vehicles may be prohibited. Families usually take steps to create assets to maintain a high quality of life for their special needs family member.

Rob has a daughter with Down syndrome and he, his wife, Lila, son and two daughters live in Colorado Springs.  He is actively involved with regional organizations that serve people with disabilities.  Rob currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Cheyenne Village. He recently served on the executive committee of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado.  Rob has also served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Fund for People with Disabilities, a state-wide organization devoted to the responsible management and productive use of funds for the long-term benefit of persons with disabilities.
